Who Should Attend the AED Course?
This course is aimed at any individual who needs or wishes to gain the valuable knowledge of how to deliver Automated External Defibrillation in the event of a cardiac arrest.
AED Learning Outcomes
This course provides those who are successful with the necessary knowledge and skills to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during a cardiac arrest event. The course follows the latest Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
Learning and Assessment
This course covers how to:
• Approach a casualty safely
• Assess a collapsed casualty
• Correctly apply effective chest compressions to a casualty
• Administer effective rescue breaths to a casualty
• Turn on the AED and attach the electrodes correctly
• Assess cardiac rhythm by the AED
• Perform defibrillation safely
• Place casualty in the recovery position.
Assessment Method
This course will be assessed through activities, multiple-choice tests and practical assessments.
